Some 360 new houses could be built in a local village if plans are signed off by Warwick District Council.

Taylor Wimpey has applied for planning permission for the major new housing estate at the former Stanks Farm in Hampton Magna.

Half the Old Budbrooke Road site would be affordable homes, and the development would also include "extensive" public open space, community gardens/orchards and play areas.

The application said: "As the council cannot demonstrate a five-year supply of deliverable housing sites, the presumption in favour of sustainable development applies.

"As demonstrated throughout this statement, the proposed development clearly meets the definition of sustainable development under national policy.

"The substantial benefits identified in this chapter, including the delivery of market and affordable housing, economic investment, and enhanced connectivity, significantly and demonstrably outweigh any identified harm.

"These benefits should therefore carry considerable weight in the planning balance."

The application has already been met with a number of objections.

I object on environmental grounds. The development will be most detrimental to the animals, birds, flora and fauna in the area, many of which are on the endangered list in the Midlands area. The development being in close proximity of houses in Gould Road will constitute contravention an invasion of privacy which contravenes Article 8 of the Human Rights Act of 1998. The proposed entrance of Gould Road is very narrow and even without the influx of more vehicles (approximately 600, allowing for two per household) and causes access problems. The Doctor's Surgery will not be able to cope with an influx of a further 1,440 potential patients. The building of these houses will also cause problems for the local village school with potentially more 500 pupils. Are the Developers considering building a new school and surgery? Hampton Magna is of historical importance, especially as Budbrooke |Barracks was housed here housing the Royal Warwickshire Regiment with its famous Field Marshal Montgomery. It is a very unpopular proposal on the grounds of being socially, economical and politically.

It should be noted that I have objected on a couple of occasions and my objections have not be registered.
