Truck drivers leaving a new Amazon warehouse are utilising an app and being handed a leaflet to keep them away from prohibited routes through Studley and Henley.
Members of Stratford District Council's planning committee discussed the matter at their meeting this week when they were told that 300 HGVs travel to and from the Redditch Eastern Gateway depot off Gorcott Hill.
A report compiled by officers explained: "The tenant has sent the details of the prohibited and alternative HGV routes to all of their logistics network.
"Each tenant owned vehicle, and the majority of other third party HGVs arriving and departing the site, use specific satellite navigation and a bespoke app that has been programmed to notify drivers when they are approaching the prohibited HGV routes and direct them to take the alternative routes.
"A leaflet is provided to all drivers leaving the service yard showing the prohibited routes and the permitted alternative routes if travelling to/from the A435 south of Studley."
A transport expert speaking at the meeting added that 99.7 per cent of the trucks were following the correct routes.
