Bin collections across Warwick district could be impacted by the closure of the A46, the council has warned.

Warwick District Council has said there could be delays to collections as the dual carriageway shuts until the start of May.

The road closed on Friday (April 11) night from Kenilworth (Thickthorn Island) and the Stivichall Interchange at Coventry.

It will not reopen until May 1.

"There may be some delays to bin collections," a Warwick District Council statement said.

"Please present your bins as normal and if your bin is not emptied, please keep your bin presented for collection.

"There are no collection changes during this time; collections are scheduled as normal over the Easter Bank Holiday."
