Local residents are being invited to a meeting next week to find out about possible plans to build 4,500 new houses in Warwick.
A public meeting is being held at Hatton Village Hall, Birmingham Road, on Monday 20 May at 7pm.
Hosted by Hatton Parish Council, the meeting will shed further light on the village potentially being earmarked for major expansion in the new South Warwickshire Local Plan (SWLP).
"Your views are crucial in order for Hatton Parish Council to represent your interests," a notice to locals said.
"The South Warwickshire Local Plan has received a proposal for a 'Hatton New Settlement'.
"This will include up to 4,500 new homes, employment for 3,000 people, three schools and infrastructure.
"This will occupy the land bounded by Hockley Road, Station Road, the M40 and the bottom of Hatton Hill."
A new timeline for SWLP was also agreed last year. Originally supposed to be adopted in 2025, it is now not expected until at least 2027.
As part of the work on the delayed plan, Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick District Council have decided not to consider the idea of dispersing the 30,000 new homes evenly across the region.
The idea would have seen each settlement take on a small number of new homes, meaning most of the burden was not placed on one individual town.
