24-hour prescription collection machine included in new Warwick pharmacy plans
A new pharmacy in Warwick could include a 24-hour prescription collection machine if plans are approved by the council.
Plans to fill the vacant pharmacy in Priory Medical Centre have been submitted to Warwick District Council and include two shop window televisions as well as the all-day collection point.
The proposals, which have been submitted by pharmacy group Avicenna, also reveal that the new pharmacy could be called Mellors.
The planning application states: "The proposed machine has a similar footprint and concept to that of an ATM machine.
"With already having ample parking facilities, installing the machine should ease the flow of vehicles during business hours with this out of hour collection service being installed.
"The machine will be set back below the canopy.
"It will have a vinyl wrap to the machine with operating instructions and logo to the front.
"This sign detail will be in-keeping with the current look of the pharmacy and the existing Medical centre colours and features."
Designs have also been submitted for the new signs and fascia.
"The proposed sign is a simple design that responds to the historic context of the site and area," the application added.
Priory Medical Centre opened in 2021 after the town's 1950's police station was demolished.
