20mph speed limits could be coming to village roads

20mph speed limits could be introduced around Hampton on the Hill if plans are signed off by Warwickshire County Council.
Locals have until mid October to have their say on the plans which could see the speed limit reduced on six roads.
However, the local authority is also asking for local opinions on increasing the limit on a section of Hampton Road from 30mph to 50mph.
The changes come at the request of local councillor Jan Matecki.
"The reduced speed limit will help improve the environment for vulnerable road users, such as wheelchair users, horse riders, pedestrians and pedal cyclists where there are no footpaths," a council report said.
"The village has a church which is used by residents and visitors to Hampton on the Hill.
"Motorists will be travelling at a slower speed, and therefore more aware of safety issues when driving through the village."
If approved, the 50mph limit would be extended by 46 metres along Hampton Road.
Meanwhile 20mph would be introduced to:
- Grove Croft
- Grove Park (section of)
- Hamtpon Croft
- Hampton Road (section of)
- Old Budbrooke Road (section of)
- Old School Lane
The public consultation runs until October 13.
