Warwickshire band to mark its 20th anniversary with intimate celebration show
In 2003, Chris Johnson and Steve Haywood accidentally co-founded KTO (originally Kathleen Turner Overdrive) as a covers band that quickly gained a reputation for not always playing songs you might expect.
This is an edge that the band has maintained throughout their years, alongside other crowd-pleasing classics from the 1960s to today, always performing with passion and commitment.
Over the years, the band has performed in pubs, clubs, at festivals, at corporate events, for weddings and parties, in high streets, in barns, on the back of lorries and even in a fire station.
Now, in 2023, KTO are "excited to celebrate" their 20th anniversary as a band with an intimate show at Temperance in Leamington Spa on November 18.
Whilst the venue is better-known as a staunch supporter of original music and other unique events, four-fifths of KTO are known to Temperance audiences as the core of the musicians that brought the sold-out four-night Dark Side of the Moon celebration to the venue in August, following their two shows at St Mary's Church in Warwick.
This is another opportunity to join Chris (vocals/guitar), Alex Davis (bass), Nick Jones (drums) and Nick Johnson (keys) for another fantastic night's entertainment, along with co-founding member Steve (guitar) – there may even be a Pink Floyd song or two thrown in for good measure.
To take advantage of the intimacy of the venue and to provide an evening of contrasts, the first set will be a full-band acoustic set, in an MTV Unplugged style, before they return for a fully electrified second set.
The band is looking forward to welcoming old friends – including former band members – as well as new faces to this special celebration of 20 years of KTO.
The show is expected to start at 7:30pm.
Tickets are £10 and are available here.
