Warwick's new paddling pool will not open until 2026

Warwick's new paddling pool will not open until 2026, Warwick District Council (WDC) has announced.
The new pool at St Nicholas Park was due to open "early" this summer but has been hit with delays.
Works started on site in February alongside a similar makeover to the pool at Victoria Park in Leamington Spa.
Having already pushed back the opening date in Warwick to later this year, an update from the council over the weekend said the pools will not open until next year.

"The council is not satisfied with the quality of the work that has been carried out so far," it said.
"Once Victoria Park had opened and was being used, it quickly became apparent that there were technical issues to be addressed.
"Regrettably, the council will not authorise reopening the paddling pools until all the rectification work has been completed and funded by the contractor over the next few weeks.
"Victoria park and St Nicholas park’s paddling pools will both open in 2026."
Non-slip surfaces, improved pool surrounds, jets and fountains with free-standing shades, and benches around the outside for parents are all set to be installed.
