Over 2,000 runners took to the streets today (February 4) for the return of the Warwick Half Marathon.

The annual event, organised by RunThrough, was sponsored by the Wigley Group and started and finished at Warwick Racecourse.

The 13.1 mile course took the runners along Coventry Road, up to Leek Wootton, along Rouncil Lane to Beausale, down Kites Nest Lane through Hatton and then back into Warwick via Hampton on the Hill.

The half marathon will began at 9am, with a wheelchair half marathon beginning five minutes earlier.

Title sponsor The Wigley Group have backed the event since 2019 and this year staff member Laura Liggins was running to support SWFT Charity's £50,000 fundraising drive to create a sensory garden for dementia patients at Warwick Hospital.

SWFT Charity is the official charity of South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust and has been chosen as this year's charity partner, with runners able to raise money to support their work.

Crowds lined the streets from the off to give runners lots of support.
