Electrification Test Technician

Test Cell & Installation Preparation
Prepare test rigs and facilities for scheduled tests.
Conduct safe, repeatable, and high-quality installations of powertrain systems into test cells.
Perform low voltage and high voltage electrical installations, cooling system setups, and facility equipment configurations.
Support fabrication and accurate instrumentation fitment as required.
Test Execution & Data Quality
Operate test rigs both manually and using automation systems.
Execute and maintain automated test routines.
Monitor and ensure high-quality test data.
Ensure all tooling is calibrated and compliant with operational standards.
Maintenance & Downtime Minimisation
Carry out first-line servicing and repairs on test systems.
Diagnose faults and escalate issues promptly to minimise downtime.
Conduct preliminary data analysis and take corrective action when needed.
Facility & Team Support
Maintain workplace organisation and cleanliness using 5S and TPM principles.
Support with goods handling, inspection, and logistical tasks.
Contribute to process improvement and documentation of local work instructions.
Participate in training activities and support skill development across the team.
Adhere to all health and safety protocols within the facility.

Required Qualifications & Skills
NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering
Minimum 3 years of relevant technical experience
Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent in English, Maths, and Science
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of vehicle and powertrain technologies, especially hybrid and electric systems
Excellent practical and mechanical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Effective communication and ability to follow technical instructions
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience with automated powertrain test cells
Background in prototype powertrain systems and diagnostic tools
Familiarity with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems
Understanding of health & safety standards, risk assessment, and COSHH
Full UK driving licence (max 6 points)
