Security Architect - 6 months - Warwick (Hybrid) - Inside IR35

Hamilton Barnes are currently supporting a client in their search for a Security Architect to join a major transformation programme within their cyber security function. This role will focus on embedding security into delivery, working across multiple projects to ensure secure design, effective risk management, and alignment with modern security practices.

The successful candidate will operate within delivery teams, providing hands-on security guidance, influencing architecture decisions, and ensuring security is integrated into both new and existing systems across a complex technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide security architecture guidance across multiple projects and programmes, ensuring secure design is Embedded from the outset
• Define and drive security requirements, patterns, and standards across a mix of cloud, SaaS, and on-prem environments
• Work closely with engineering, DevOps, and delivery teams to integrate security into the development life cycle
• Conduct security risk assessments and ensure risks are identified, managed, and appropriately mitigated or accepted
• Support supplier and third-party security assurance, including input into vendor risk and contract reviews
• Collaborate with wider security and architecture teams to review designs and ensure alignment with organisational policies
• Remove blockers and enable delivery teams to meet security requirements without impacting pace

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• Proven experience as a Security Architect or senior Security Consultant operating within delivery environments
• Strong background in security architecture and secure design across enterprise or complex environments
• Hands-on experience with risk assessment and security frameworks (eg, ISO27001, NIST, ISO27005)
• Experience working with engineering or DevOps teams to embed security into projects
• Exposure to supplier or third-party security risk management
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to operate in fast-paced environments and make pragmatic, risk-based decisions

Contract Details:

• Duration: 6 months
• Rate: up to £500 per day (Inside IR35)
• Working Model: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite in Warwick)
• Role Type: Contract (Inside IR35)
