Linux SME - SMTPWhitehall resources are looking for a Linux SME - SMTP. This role is mainly remote working with occasional travel to Warwick, for an initial 1-2-month contract, with the potential of an extension.*Inside IR35 & MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR SC CLEARANCE*Job Description: Urgently required to lead/support SMTP Detailed Design (and maybe build) Must have experience of Postfix.A Linux SME with knowledge of RHEL and Dovecot/Postfix with emphasis on Message Transfer Agent "satellite" configuration for on-premises deployment and operating between closed domains (ie no SaaS or email gateway to Internet). The SME is responsible for the low level design and build documents for a Red Hat Postfix satellite MTA and to implement the solution.Key Skills:. Strong understanding of SMTP and Message Transfer Agents. Experience of Dovecot and Postfix. Experienced in Low Level Design and Build documentation.. Experienced in build and configuration on Linux within a Broadcom VCF (VMware virtual platform).. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.. Strong understanding of security best practices.. Strong understanding of DNS records and mail security and validation (MX, DKIM, DMARC)Desirable Skills:. Experience with on-premises-based mail solutions.. Knowledge of hybrid on-premises to SaaS mail services. Excellent co-ordination and collaboration with infrastructure teams.. Understanding of security and risk implication around email relaying.
