Reed Finance is delighted to be supporting our Leamington Spa-based client in the recruitment of a Financial Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional to join a well-established business and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of the company's financial reporting.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, the successful candidate will take ownership of the month-end close process, oversee the production of management accounts, support statutory reporting requirements and help maintain a robust financial control environment. The role will also be heavily involved in compliance, tax reporting, audit coordination and the delivery of accurate financial information to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the month-end close process, ensuring the P&L and balance sheet are completed accurately and within reporting deadlines.

Prepare, review and post journals including accruals, prepayments and provisions.

Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Produce monthly management accounts and management reporting packs, providing clear and meaningful financial insights.

Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items promptly.

Support cash flow reporting and forecasting activities, together with monitoring working capital performance.

Oversee group reporting requirements and ensure compliance with group reporting deadlines and frameworks.

Work closely with Group Finance, Tax and Treasury teams on reporting, compliance and cash management matters.

Coordinate internal and external audits, acting as a key point of contact for auditors.

Manage tax compliance and statutory reporting obligations, ensuring submissions are accurate and completed on time.

Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and year-end reporting requirements.

Ensure all financial controls, governance and compliance procedures are maintained and continuously improved.

About You

The successful candidate will hold a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, and will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, including a good understanding of IFRS.

We are particularly interested in speaking with professionals who have gained experience within a manufacturing environment, where they have developed a strong understanding of month-end processes, management reporting, compliance, and tax requirements. Experience of producing management packs, closing the P&L and supporting operational stakeholders in a fast-paced business would be highly advantageous.

You will be an accomplished Excel user, possess excellent attention to detail and be comfortable working independently whilst building strong working relationships across the wider business.

This is a fully office-based position.
