Step Into a Spook-tacular Adventure at St John's Haunted House!

Get ready for a family-friendly, spine-tingling experience this October half term! Bring your little monsters, brave explorers, and curious minds along for a magical mix of thrills, storytelling, and hands-on fun.

Wander through the mysterious rooms of St John's House and see them transformed like never before. Follow clues and uncover the traditional tale of Sleeping Beauty—but beware… something wicked may be lurking in the castle woods

Create, Experiment, and Get Messy!

Young witches and wizards can:

  • Mix ingredients and make potions
  • Take part in a slime making workshop
  • Explore textures and creativity in our messy play area
  • Visit the Witch's Kitchen to discover spooky scents and magical "ingredients"
  • Make Halloween crafts to keep

For younger visitors, there's a special playdough zone to shape and create Halloween characters

What to Expect

  • A 75–90 minute immersive experience (site closes at 5:30pm)
  • A ground-floor walk-through haunted house adventure
  • Interactive storytelling, problem-solving, and creative play; Our staff will be on hand to guide you through the activities and show you what to do
  • Indoor and covered outdoor activities—rain or shine!

Enjoy hot drink and snacks from our coffee van .

Dress to Impress (or Spook!)

Costumes are highly encouraged for both children and grown-ups!

Helpful Info

  • Suitable for children with accompanying adults
  • Slime-making and crafts are included with paid child tickets only
  • Want your under 2 to make slime and the craft? Be sure to book them a child ticket

Are you brave enough to outsmart the ogress, and escape the haunted house? Spaces are limited so book soon.

Some activities will take place undercover outside and in our activity centre so please dress for the weather.

Disabled parking only available at St John's House, please contact us in advance to reserve a space. Access to St Nicholas Park via St John's Brook Gardens will be available for paid parking there.

Hot drinks and snacks available to buy from the onsite Coffee van.
