The donkeys are returning to the Lord Leycester!
As part of Warwick's Victorian Evening, step inside our medieval courtyard to meet our very special four-legged visitors.
Come and meet the donkeys, give them a gentle stroke, take photos and learn more about these wonderful animals and the roles they have played throughout history.
There's a special connection to the Lord Leycester's military heritage, too. Pooka is the same breed as donkeys used during wartime, offering an opportunity to remember the many animals who served alongside members of the Armed Forces.
Last year's event supported the Donkey Breed Society's appeal for a permanent donkey silhouette at the International War Animal Memorial in Pozières, France. The wider campaign raised more than £6,500, helping to fund a lasting tribute to donkeys who served during the First World War and animals involved in conflicts throughout history.
This year, your visit will once again support two charities.
Tickets: £3 per person
50% of ticket proceeds will support the Lord Leycester charity, with the remaining 50% going to the Donkey Breed Society.
Tickets can be booked in advance or purchased on the door, subject to availability.
You'll also find displays along the Lord Leycester frontage exploring our military heritage and highlighting the work of military museums and charities across Warwick.
Our Great Hall Café will be open throughout the evening, serving food, drinks and festive treats available to purchase separately.
