Wednesday 2 December
Join us for a new series of free monthly creative workshops celebrating the stories of veterans, community and the unique living heritage of the Lord Leycester.
Funded by Warwick District Council, Stitching Stories brings together the resident Brethren, local veterans and members of the wider community to connect through creativity, conversation and shared experiences.
Held on the first Wednesday of each month following the Master & Brethren's monthly prayers, each session will begin with the story of one of our resident Brethren, sharing their military career, life experiences and journey to the Lord Leycester. These personal stories will then inspire a relaxed artist-led creative workshop, led by local artist Lottie Wilson.
Working together across six sessions, participants will create a series of collaborative textile banners using repurposed historic knight tabards from the Lord Leycester's costume collection. The completed banners will be permanently displayed within the Great Hall, creating a lasting celebration of the stories and experiences of veterans, both past and present.
No previous artistic experience is needed – just a willingness to get involved. Whether you're a veteran, have a connection to the Armed Forces, or are simply interested in meeting new people and taking part in a creative community project, everyone is warmly welcome.
Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided throughout each session.
