Work underway on creating Warwick's new banking hub

Builders are on site at the former Holland & Barrett unit in the centre of Warwick as work to turn it into a new banking hub moves forward.
With Lloyds on Swan Street closing this month, and many of the other major banks already having left the town, Warwick is set to get the one-stop shop for all major banks.
Originally it looked like the facility would be housed at Shire Hall, but a planning application was then submitted by Cash Access UK Limited to repurpose the empty shop on High Street.

Notices in the window confirm it will be the town's new banking hub.
The application for the shop front and the signs at the unit is yet to be approved by Warwick District Council.
Warwick Town Council has also objected saying the designs are "not in accordance with the shop front policy" of the district council. The town council says it does support the idea of a banking hub.
"Changes proposed as part of the property's conversion from an empty unit to Banking Hub function includes installing heritage aesthetic styled signage to reflect the new Banking Hub services," the application explained.
"The heritage brand fascia and the projecting signage are to be situated at the top of the existing ground floor elevation and their heritage aesthetic will pay respect to the historical context.
"These additions are very much in keeping with the character of the area and will have very little impact on surrounding properties."

A banking hub pilot has recently been rolled out in Kenilworth Library where Post Office staff manage the cash transactions while staff from various banks have availability for appointments and drop-ins on a rotating basis.
An opening date for the Warwick banking hub has not been publicised.
