Severn Trent has said it is pressing ahead with work on site on Priory Mews as works to knock down a number of houses continue.

The water company began knocking down the homes in January, some two years after safety concerns around the road were first raised.

Thought to be subsidence caused by a burst water main, there have been discussions around the road since February 2022.

Councillors at Warwickshire County Council last year revealed progress was on hold until Severn Trent cut a deal with the last remaining homeowner.

But with work on site appearing to have slowed over the past few months, Severn Trent has reassured locals it is pressing ahead with the project.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said to Nub News: "While the cause and responsibility for the issues at Priory Mews is undetermined, to act in the best interest of those affected we stepped in to help manage it to bring things to a resolution as quickly as possible.

"We're continuing to work with all affected residents, who our insurance teams remain in contact with throughout.

"A lot of the recent remedial work has been taking place to the subsurface to support the road, as well as to individual properties."

However, with one of the buildings still standing, an end date for completing the works is yet to be confirmed.
