Five estates in Warwickshire remain unclaimed, government data reveals.

Recent data from the Government Legal Department reveals two of the estates without an heir have sat unclaimed since 2001.

The other two come after deaths in 2009 and 2020 respectively.

Unclaimed estates are where a person dies without leaving a valid will and where no entitled relatives can be identified or traced.

In this case it passes to the crown as ownerless property.

People can make a claim on an unclaimed estate.

Across the rest of Warwickshire there are a further 15 unclaimed estates.

These are in Nuneaton, Bedworth, Rugby and Stratford-upon-Avon.
