Dan Jones, Alison Weir and Terry Deary are among the speakers heading to Warwick this autumn for Warwick Words History Festival 2024.

The acclaimed literary festival will once again head to the town between September 26 and October 6.

A whole host of well known authors are set to feature at the History Festival.

"We are delighted to bring you the programme of events for our 2024 History Festival," organisers said.

"This year we host a very special pre-Festival event as Dan Jones introduces his newly-released history of Henry V.

"The main festival sees many of our favourite guests returning to Warwick – Helen Castor, Max Hastings, James Holland, Alison Weir – and concludes with Terry Deary discussing his new history of Britain, a must-read for the parents and grandparents of his younger audience.

"And in a new initiative, our popular post-Festival Warwick University Talks will take place on just one day, Saturday 12 October."

Warwick Words started life in October 2002 as the Warwick Literary Weekend before expanding from a weekend to a week.

From 2016 it became specifically a history festival.
