Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

Leper Hospital

New fencing is set to be installed in Warwick as part of plans to restore two historic buildings at an important archaeological site in the town.

The Heritage Lottery Funded project will see the former Master's House and St Michael's Chapel at the sympathetically redeveloped for residential use. 

The project is being undertaken by the West Midlands Historic Buildings Trust in partnership with Warwick District Council.

A46 Behind Closed Doors

Councillors kicked back but still got forced into a secret vote on what happens next with Warwickshire County Council's ill-fated 'Bridge to Nowhere'.

Green Party group leader Cllr Jonathan Chilvers and colleague Cllr Keith Kondakor sought to challenge whether the entire update on the overdue and over-budget road capacity works over the A46 at Stoneleigh Junction should be heard in private session.

Cllr Chilvers was denied permission to speak and Cllr Kondakor was twice stopped from raising a point of order by chair Cllr Ed Harris, decisions he articulated following prompts from chief executive Monica Fogarty.

St Johns Progress

Roadworks around Warwick's St Johns junction have "run well to date", the council has said.

Work around the busy junction has paused for the Christmas period, having started in October.

Most of the parking spaces have been made available and the carriageway outside the shops will remain open - now one-way only.
