Warwick planning roundup: 5G mast, Ask Italian and solar plans
By James Smith 9th May 2026
Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
Solar Panel Plans
A local village hall has been told it can install new solar panels as it looks to cut costs.
The charity behind Lowsonford Village Hall says the panels could help save up to £2,000 per year at the Rookery Lane site.
The development is set to deliver 11.625kw of "solar pv generated capacity" and battery storage.
Ask Italian's Roof
Structural repairs are needed at a former Warwick restaurant which has been on the market for over two years.
Strandpark Properties Ltd has applied for listed building consent to refurbish and repair the roof and the upper floors at the former Ask Italian unit on High Street.
The large restaurant space has been on the market since late 2023 but with no takers.
5G Mast
Council planners have given the green light for a new 5G mast to be installed near Warwick.
Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Limited has been given prior approval to remove an existing pole at Five Ways Road, Shrewley, and replace it with a 20 metre-high mast.
Warwick District Council rubber stamped the plans at the end of April.
