Warwick offices could be turned back into homes

An office in the centre of Warwick could be turned back into homes if plans are signed off by Warwick District Council.
Signature Quality Refurbished Homes ltd has applied for planning permission to convert the grade II listed building on High Street.
If approved, the scheme will see the offices turned into two homes.
The development would also see a rear single storey extension on the back of one of the homes.
Little external changes would be made.
"This is to preserve and mitigate any harm to the historic fabric of the building, whilst still providing any future occupiers with a characterful home that has evolved to suit modern living," the application said.
It continued: "There are no proposed changes to the front elevation, again preserving the historic frontage of the building and maintaining the character of the High Street.
"The rear elevational changes mainly comprise the demolition of existing extension and replacement proposed."
Internal works would include removing internal partitions, changing windows, creating a new bathroom and turning the office rooms into bedrooms.
The application concludes: "A combination of carefully planned layout alterations, minor elevational improvements and a sensitively designed extension (No. 36) are proposed to convert this property from an existing office into two family dwellings.
"It is felt that these sympathetic alterations will provide future occupiers with a characterful home that respects the heritage and history of the dwellings, whilst providing layouts that are conducive with modern living arrangements."
