Almost a quarter of crimes in Warwick are investigated with no suspect identified, according to the latest data published by police.uk.

The data also shows that the town posted the lowest crime numbers in three years at the start of 2022.

Just 667 crimes were reported by Warwick Central police between January and March this year.

But with suspects unable to be prosecuted in more than two fifths of cases, that means nearly 65 per cent of crimes in Warwick go unpunished.

In the last 12 months more violent and sexual offences were identified than any other at 1076 (36.9 per cent), followed by 547 anti-social behaviour reports.

There were also 214 reported cases of public order offences and 212 vehicle crimes.

However, in the first quarter of 2022 there were just 667 crimes reported in the town - a three year low.

In 2021 the most crimes were reported in August at 268.
