Warwick 2023 local elections guide

Residents will take to the polls tomorrow (May 4) to vote in new councillors for Warwick Town Council and Warwick District Council.

At the town council, locals will vote in 15 councillors across seven wards.

Meanwhile at the district level there will be 12 councillors across five Warwick and Budbrooke wards.

Votes will be cast on Thursday, and the results will be announced on Friday (May 5) following the count at NAEC Stoneleigh.

In Warwick voters can vote at:

  • The Gap
  • All Saints Church
  • Woodloes Primary School
  • The John Turner Centre
  • Warwickspace
  • Pickard Street Community Room
  • Warwick School
  • Packmores Centre
  • Saltisford Gardens
  • Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
  • Northgate Methodist Church
  • St Paul's Church
  • St Mary's
  • Warwick Show Band Hall

Locals can find out which polling station they should go to, here.

The hours of poll for all elections are 7am to 10pm.

At the polling station you will:

  • Give your name and address to the staff inside the polling station when you arrive
  • Show your photo ID to confirm your identity.
  • You'll be given a ballot paper containing a list of the people you can vote for

For the first time ever, locals will have to show photographic ID in order to vote.

Which forms of ID can I use to vote?

  • Passport
  • Driving licence (including provisional license)
  • Blue badge
  • Certain concessionary travel cards
  • Identity card with PASS mark (Proof of Age Standards Scheme) 
  • Biometric Immigration document
  • Defence identity card
  • Certain national identity cards

Yesterday Nub News reported that local group leaders at WDC do not believe there will still not be a majority party at the council come Friday.
