Residents will once again be able to see steam power in action on the mainline this weekend as part of the Four Castles event at the Didcot Railway Centre.

A double-headed steam special will pass through Warwick twice tomorrow (March 4) as part of a round trip from Birmingham Snow Hill to Didcot Parkway

According to Realtime Trains, the express will pass through Warwick Parkway at 8.56am and then Warwick Station at 8.57am on the southbound journey.

It will also pass through nearby Hatton and Leamington Spa.

It will then return from Didcot at 3.01pm and reach Warwick again at 4.41pm - full timings can be found here.

Promoted by Vintage Trains, the excursion will be hauled by 7029 Clun Castle and 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe.

Saturday's event at Didcot is a celebration of the Great Western Railway Castle Class locomotive, with four restored engines set to be on display.

As well as the two passing through Warwick, 4079 Pendennis Castle and 5051 Drysllwyn Castle will also be on display at the sold out event.
