A jewellers which expanded into Kenilworth at the start of the year says it has hit the ground running at its new location, and has thanked locals for welcoming it to the town.

The Jones Family Jewellers moved into its second store at Talisman Square in January, taking over from Sylvesters the Jewellers which had been trading in the town for some 60 years.

Having started his career in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, Jones Family Jewellers owner Richard Jones then moved to Leamington to work for another firm, before going solo in January 2013.

He started out as a cash for gold business, then expanded into repairs, before opening The Jones Family Jewellers in 2017 on Satchel Walk Leamington.

Richard also has a fully state of the art work shop with two Goldsmiths onsite in the Leamington branch, as well as a pearl re-stringer and engraver in the Kenilworth branch, so between the two shops he has 99 per cent of services covered in house.

"We were really welcomed with open arms," Richard told Nub News.

"For anyone who hasn't been to see us yet, why not come down and see what we - and Kenilworth in general - has to offer."

Since opening, Richard has given the Talisman Square shop a refurb, with new carpets, lights and decors installed.

Richard is also working to turn the upstairs office into a private viewing room, which will be available at the end of June for bookings.

"It has worked for us in Leamington before, we have had a lot of demand for it," he explained.

"Particularly for people buying engagement rings who didn't want to be seen at all. And selling gold or silver, its a perfect private room to do this in"

"If people are buying something for their partner they do not want to be seen."

Richard would like to thank his team who he says have helped make the transition into running two shops easier for him.

"It hasn't been as bad as I first thought - I thought I would be on my first heart attack by now!" he joked.

"Every month I am feeling calmer.

"Soon I will be in a routine of being in both shops, but I have a manager in Leamington who I have worked with for years and keeps it all going smoothly.

"The team in Kenilworth are all fantastic."

And for those wondering why they should make the trip to Kenilworth to visit the shop, Richard said it was the Jones Family Jewellers' customer service which sets the business apart.

Richard has also been quick to support local causes - including the Kenilworth Advent Calendar last Christmas (image supplied)

"Service and aftercare is huge for us," he said.

"If people come in three weeks after buying something and they have got there jewellery dirty, we will clean it.

"This is a marathon not a sprint and caring for your customers doesn't stop at selling them something.

"Our priority is our service and treating everyone who walks through our doors the best we can."
