Warwick's weekly Saturday market has been cancelled this weekend, following a Yellow Weather Warning issued by the Met Office.

The organisers, CJ's Events Warwickshire, announced the cancellation after closely monitoring weather forecasts over the past 24 hours, noting that the outlook for Saturday has deteriorated.

Wind speeds are forecasted to reach up to 55 miles per hour during the day, with the Yellow Weather Warning officially issued at 10:05 am this morning, (3 October.)

However, Leamington's Autumn market, scheduled for this Sunday (5 October), is still set to go ahead.

CJ's Events said: "These conditions are not only unsafe for our Saturday markets to operate but could also pose a significant risk to our team, traders, visitors, equipment, and products.

"We completely understand this will come as disappointing news, but the safety of our traders, team, and visitors is always our top priority."

Many other markets and outdoor events across the region have also had to cancel due to Storm Amy.
