The phrase 'divine intervention' could not have been truer for a family in Warwick earlier this year.

Back in May, 10-year-old Eli Welton had been picked up from school after feeling unwell and, while on his way back home, his Dad spotted an ambulance pulled up on the side of the road and decided to ask for assistance.

Paramedic Luke Foulstone and Technician Shana Hoare were completing paperwork for their previous job when they had a tap on the window.

They found Eli starting to have a seizure in the back of his Dad's car.

Eli's dad and Luke got him into the back of the ambulance where he was given medication and alerted to Warwick Hospital.

A CT scan went on to find out that Eli had suffered a serious brain haemorrhage and he was transferred to Birmingham Children's Hospital.

This week, Luke and Shana were reunited with Eli and his family and were thrilled to be able to see him fit, well and happy.

His family were extremely thankful to the crew and presented them with a beautiful gift following an emotional thank you.

Warwick Senior Operations Manager, Alun Morgan, says: "I have no doubt that the crew's quick and professional actions improved the outcome for Eli.

"Their comprehensive handover at Hospital ensured this patient was transferred in a timely manner and received the ongoing specialist care required."
