Warwick locals have been warned about jumping off bridges into the River Avon at St Nicholas Park.

The police warning came after multiple incidents have been reported over the last few days.

They said the behaviour "poses a serious risk to personal safety".

"Water depth can vary, hidden hazards may be present, and cold water shock can occur even in warmer weather," a force statement said.

"While enjoying the park, we'd also ask everyone to be mindful of their surroundings — keep noise levels reasonable, take litter home or use the bins provided, and be respectful of others who are using the space.

"We would strongly urge anyone visiting the park to think carefully about the risks and help keep themselves and others safe.

"Thank you to everyone who continues to enjoy the park responsibly."

Police will be patrolling the area over the coming days.
