Plans to turn a barn into a two-bedroom holiday let in Barford have been put forward to Warwick District Council.

If approved, the scheme would see the storage building on Wasperton Lane remodelled internally to create the accommodation - but there would be little actual change to the outside of the building.

Plans show the ground floor would have a large kitchen-dining room, bedroom, bathroom and utility space.

Meanwhile a second bedroom would be created on the first floor - with some of it still left for storage.

"The site is…exceptionally well placed to serve tourism destinations in the area being more or less equidistant of Warwick and Stratford and within a peaceful setting that would be attractive to those wishing to get away for a quiet break and to visit a variety of attractions," the application said.

The scheme would also see a sheltered patio area created to the south of the let.

No new access would be created either, and parking would be next to the existing house on site.

"The conversion of the building, and its future use as a holiday let, will have no material impact on the character and appearance of the countryside," the application added.

"It is also worthwhile to note that the works associated with parking to serve the holiday let will be contained within the domestic curtilage of the principal dwelling and thus would represent works that would not require planning permission."
