Plans to open an extra 'drive thru' window at the Queensway McDonalds have been approved by Warwick District Council.

The fast-food chain had applied for permission for a range of works to the store, including a new entrance lobby, pedestrian crossing and outside seating.

The plans also show that the inside of the eatery will become slightly bigger and have a new design for the shopfront.

The external cladding will also be updated.

The extra drive thru booth - taking the venue up to three - will also see some slight changes to the road layout.

Approving the application, a WDC report said: "The proposed works will not result in any notable changes in operation and overall use of the site as a restaurant and drive through takeaway.

"No significant enlargement to the main building is proposed, with the extensions proposed sitting within the footprint area of its existing roof canopy.

"In addition, and its general layout with a drive through routing around the building and an entrance to its south elevation would be retained."
