Plans to boost Wi-Fi at Warwick's Wetherspoon pub

Pub giant Wetherspoon has been told it does not need planning permission to upgrade the Wi-Fi at its Warwick site.
The national chain had applied for planning permission from Warwick District Council to improve the public and staff internet at the Thomas Lloyd in Market Square.
A planning application for the grade II listed building said: "This proposal seeks to enhance the Wi-Fi infrastructure within The Thomas Lloyd to improve connectivity for both guests and staff.
"The installation will include multiple wireless access points and upgraded cabling, strategically positioned throughout the building to optimize coverage.
"All works will be undertaken with careful consideration of the operational needs of the business while preserving the historic integrity of the property."
The application said the new installations would be discrete to "preserve the building's aesthetic and historical character".
The works will also take place during business hours, but not when the pub is at its busiest.
However, a report from the district council said Wetherspoon did not need planning permission for the works and can press ahead with them.
