Plans for two new drive thru eateries at Leamington Shopping Park have taken a step forward, with planners signing off on more details for the site.
The former Frankie & Benny's restaurant at the Tachbrook Park Drive centre has already been demolished, with contractors working fast to create the two new fast food outlets.
And now Warwick District Council has signed off on the designs for a new set of EV chargers to be installed.
The 12 spaces were due to be built in the car park right next to the drive thrus, but have had to be relocated elsewhere in the shopping park due to complications in getting power to the chargers.
The application said: "We include with the application, a suggested location for the EV spaces, with details to be provided as part of the condition discharge prior to occupation in order for the landowner to find a suitable operator for the EV units.
"The intention would be for the allocated space to provide a minimum of 12 EV charge spaces and whilst the rating of each charger would be dependent on power available, it is expected that they will provide a mix of 300kw and 150kw chargers."
Signing off on the plans, a council report said: "The revisions to the scheme are considered to be acceptable and the revised wording of the condition is considered to be appropriate.
"The proposed EV charging points have been assessed and considered acceptable."
The planning permission was granted to abrdn UK Real Estate Fund, in the same week it was reported the firm has sold the shopping park for £58 million to BRE IM.
Planning permission to create two 'drive thrus' at Tachbrook Park Drive was signed off by Warwick District Council last year, with the plans seeing the former restaurant flattened.
The application - first submitted in 2021 - said the units have been designed for Five Guys and KFC.
