Plans for more disabled parking spots in Warwick revealed
By James Smith 14th Apr 2026
Plans to create more disabled parking spaces in Warwick have been revealed by Warwickshire County Council.
The local authority has shortlisted multiple roads for more blue badge spots and says the plan has come at the request of residents.
If approved, the scheme would also see two disabled bays described as no longer needed, removed.
"These requests have been made by the public and are to assist with accessibility and improve the flow of traffic where bays are no longer required," a council report said.
"This has been assessed against the Warwickshire County Council's parking policies."
If approved, a new bay would be added on West Street.
"The bay will be positioned to provide convenient proximity to key entrances and will be clearly designated to prevent inappropriate use," the report added.
"Its implementation supports the broader objective of fostering an equitable and accessible environment for all users."
Four disabled bays informally in place on Pickard Street would also be rubberstamped.
Meanwhile a blue badge bay outside a house on Sharpe Close would be removed and replaced with one in the turning head further down the road where two parking spaces currently are.
Another blue badge bay would also be removed on Victoria Street.
"The bay is no longer required, and its continued presence may contribute to inefficient use of available parking space," the report said.
Locals have until May 5 to object to the plans.
