New Warwick artisan market 'a great success'

The launch of Warwick's new artisan market this week was "a great success" according to the town council.
Following workshops with local residents, Warwick Town Council has launched the new weekday market at the Lord Leycester, with the first edition held on Wednesday 2 April.
After the success of the launch - which was opened by Mayor of Warwick Cllr Dave Skinner - the market will be held on the first and third Wednesday of each month.
With an 'artisan feel' the market has been created by Warwick Town Council in response to its Vision Workshops which saw locals voice their desire for somewhere to buy fresh fruit and veg in the town centre.

Stalls will vary week by week but confirmed stallholders already include fruit and veg, artisan pies, Indian fare including samosa made fresh on site, artisan cheese, homemade brownies and baking kits, natural dog treats, as well as French charcuterie, pate, terrines, and baguettes.
"It has been a great success; the weather has definitely helped," finance and communications officer George Palmer told Nub News.
"The freshly cooked samosas from Spice Fever are delicious and the range of fresh fruit and veg has been very successful.

"Over 80 cheeses have been on offer from Curds & Whey, as well as homemade brownies and baking kits from Dale’s Handmade.
"Visitors have also been able to sample and purchase Craq – caramel shards coated in milk chocolate & sprinkled with salted pecans.
"There has also been a range of dog treats for sale from Furbaby, and an opportunity for visitors to learn more about Warwickshire Wildlife Trust."
The council was also quick to thank all those who visited and supported the market.
The next market will be held on Wednesday 16 April and will also feature Brockleby’s Pies - handmade award winning pies from Melton Mowbray - French charcuterie and baguettes, and a local fish trader.
