A new weekly late-finish market has been launched to support Warwick businesses in the run up to Christmas.

Hosted by CJ's Events Warwickshire, the new markets will run from 2pm to 7pm every Wednesday from Market Square.

And shoppers who buy something from one of the stalls between 5pm and 6pm will be treated to free mulled wine and mince pies.

Many local shops around the town will also be taking part and keeping their doors open longer, and visitors are encouraged to come along and support the town during the festive period.

The late-finish markets will run until December 22 alongside the regular Saturday daytime markets in Market Square.

Jamie Walker of CJ's Events Warwickshire said on the company's website: "We look forward to hosting the Wednesday markets to support local, independent shops. Last Christmas was a very challenging year, and this year we're all able to go out & about as normal.

"Warwick has a wonderful independent shopping experience, and that includes the many unique, small, independent shops & stalls."

Warwick will also enjoy a Victorian market hosted by CJ's next Thursday during the town's light switch on event.
