A new cocktail bar, which opened in Warwick in November, has already proved popular amongst locals.

WanderBar, located in the town centre, is the latest venture from local hospitality business owner Jack.

Speaking about the new bar, Jack shared: "Things are going really well since our opening.

"Functions are definitely going to be our bread and butter - the function room is already getting lots of interest."

After years of running countryside venues, including pubs, opening a town-centre bar was a new challenge Jack was keen to take on.

"I've always been based in more rural or country club-style settings," Jack explained.

"But I wanted to move into a town centre and see what challenges that brings."

WanderBar is primarily a cocktail bar, with a strong focus on the experience behind the bar.

"All our cocktails are made fresh, right in front of you," said Jack.

"We mix everything ourselves, source locally where possible, and we really enjoy the theatre of it, even setting a bit of fire now and then."

Alongside cocktails, the bar also offers draft beer, wines, mixers, mocktails, soft drinks and a variety of other drinks.

Live music is also part of the plan, with performances expected as the venue continues to grow.

For Jack, WanderBar marks a return to what he loves most about hospitality.

"There's less pressure in some ways, it's more passion-led.

"I get to be customer-facing again, speaking to customers and doing what I love."

Jack's career began working his way up from management roles to general manager before taking on his own business during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

He added: "I don't have investors behind me, it's hard work, but I do this for the love of it"

Looking ahead, while the bar is still in its early stages, Jack has plans to expand its food offering, make use of a courtyard space in the summer, and potentially grow into nearby towns.

"There are lots of exciting things to come," Jack added.
