MP for Leamington and Warwick Matt Western has expressed thanks towards NHS workers, with Saturday (5 July) marking the NHS's 77th anniversary.

Taking to Facebook, on Saturday, Mr Western shared: "Today marks 77 years since the NHS was founded.

"In those years, it has touched the lives of millions of people, being there at the start and end of life for so many people and their loved ones.

"What makes the NHS is the people that work in it, and they deserve huge appreciation every day, but particularly today.

"They are the reason the NHS is still with us 77 years on and the reason it keeps looking after us every day.

"Thank you to all who work or have worked in the NHS during these 77 years, your impact on our communities is undeniable."

He further stated that he will be sharing more details on the 10-Year Health Plan announced this week and what he believes is a "really positive vision for the next decade of our NHS."
