It has been another busy few weeks in Parliament and back home in the constituency.

We have been lucky to have a series of events taking place locally over the last week or so and I've been grateful to have the opportunity to attend a few of them.

Last Saturday, I attended Interactive Futures 2025 which was being held at the Spa Centre in Leamington. It is a brilliant event which I have always found fascinating.

At the event, Warwickshire's gaming industry comes together and highlight the wealth of talent we have on our doorstep and how the industry and local area can work in tandem together.

The opportunity the event provides for networking and for local people to find out about opportunities in the sector that they may have never come across otherwise is invaluable.

Warwick-based Maverick Games were the Legendary Sponsor this year and were a brilliant advert for the wealth of talent and opportunity in our region.

For local students, their parents or guardians, or those who live locally and are looking for prospective career changes, Leamington is known as 'Silicon Spa' for good reason, and this has already expanded in a real way in Warwick. You could be the next generation of talent the industry is looking for so please do explore the opportunities available in our towns.

On Sunday, I attended the Czechoslovak Fountain Commemoration in Jephson Gardens, marking the 83rd anniversary of the deaths in a Prague Church of the seven paratroopers fighting Nazi soldiers during World War Two.

These seven men were part of the Free Czechoslovak Army (FCA) who were based in Leamington during the war. They arrived in 1940 and were based in the town for two years. The fountain is in memory of those men who resided in our town during those years and particularly those who lost their lives 83 years ago.

Finally, it is excellent to see the return of Leamington Peace Festival after a five-year hiatus, taking place this Friday (20th June) and Saturday (21st June). It first started as the Leamington Festival of International Understanding and Peace started in 1980 with the aim of promoting mutual understanding between people of different countries and cultures.

It continues to serve as a necessary reminder of the need for cooperation between countries, particularly with our closest neighbour of Europe, to combat tyrants who seek to cause chaos and bring harm to nations and people across the world.

Much credit to the organisers and volunteers for coordinating its timely return.

As always, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any issues or concerns you would like to raise with me. I can be reached at [email protected] or on 01926 88200
