Meet the candidates: Budbrooke & Bishop’s Tachbrook

This week, locals will head to the polls to vote in their new councillors for Warwickshire County Council.
All 57 wards at the local authority are up for grabs, with voting opening on Thursday 1 May.
Results will then be announced on Friday 2 May, including all Warwick district wards.
We have asked each candidate why locals should trust them with their vote.
This is what the candidates for Budbrooke & Bishop's Tachbrook said:
Jenny Bevan - Labour
I've lived in Budbrooke and Bishop's Tachbrook for almost 20 years and I'm committed to making our community a better place for everyone.
As a working parent, long-time volunteer and community advocate, I know the challenges we face: underfunded schools, crumbling roads, unreliable public transport and a lack of investment in vital services.
The Conservatives have let us down for too long.
Labour will fix our roads, invest in schools, upgrade our infrastructure and bring back safe, reliable public transport, including cycle paths and footpaths.
I'll always listen stand up for our area and fight for the change we deserve.

Jan Matecki - Conservative
Over the past four years, it has been an honour to serve the Budbrooke and Bishop's Tachbrook community.
Meeting and helping so many passionate individuals has been a privilege and representing you at Warwickshire County Council has been deeply rewarding.
When elected, I promised to listen, research your concerns, and advocate for the changes you want—and I've kept that promise.
Together, we've achieved a lot, but there's still more to do to strengthen our communities.
If re-elected, I'll continue working as hard as I have over the last four years, focusing on practical, local improvements that matter most to you.
Your trust means everything to me.
Paul McCloskey - Liberal Democrats
Paul moved to Hampton Magna three years ago from Cheltenham to be nearer family.
A change management consultant by profession, he has been involved in local politics for many years having previously been a Councillor in Cheltenham.
Paul is well versed in scrutinising large county-wide programmes, and aware of the financial challenges Warwickshire is facing as local government is reorganised.
He is passionate about combating climate change and the loss of biodiversity.
As a grandparent and chair of a cancer charity, Paul is very aware of the challenges for families, such as struggling with the after-effects of Covid, education, unemployment and caring for elderly relatives.
Warwickshire is a delightful place to live, and Paul will work hard to keep it that way.

Colin Oliver - Reform UK
Nub News has approached Reform UK for a statement.
Marcia Watson - Green
I'm standing because I want a strong Green voice for our area.
Existing Green councillors across Warwick district have worked hard for their area and successfully challenged the county council.
In the last six months alone they've stopped the Conservatives cutting youth clubs and library opening hours.
Working with others, they've also increased fly tipping enforcement and collection, added more funds to tackle antisocial behaviour and introduced soft plastics recycling.
Join so many people who are turning away from Labour and Conservative and looking for a positive option who will stand up for our area. Please vote Green on May 1.
