A man has been taken to hospital after being found in a 'critical condition' in Warwick last night (18 January).

Emergency services were called and attended the scene where an incident occurred near Emscote Road in Warwick at around 7pm yesterday evening.

Several motorists reported Police had blocked off the end of Montague Road / Charles Street, with officers shining torches around the canal area, which was also closed off.

A statement from West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed: "We were called to an incident near to Emscote Road in Warwick at 6.59pm, yesterday, and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Critical Care Car to the scene.

"On arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition and administered advanced life support, before conveying him under emergency driving conditions to Warwick Hospital."
