Local councillors gathered to cut the ribbon and mark the official opening of Warwick District's new green space, this afternoon (16 July).
Developed through a partnership between Warwick District Council and Homes England, Elizabeth Park on Edmondscote Road, is set to serve as a traffic-free route between Warwick and Leamington for pedestrians and cyclists.
In attendance of the opening was Warwick District Council's Chairman, Cllr Pam Redford who shared: "It is a real pleasure to welcome you all to the first phase of Elizabeth Park and to be able to express my sincere thanks to everyone who played a part in the planning, designing, funding and delivery of the park.
"From the early ideas and consultations, through to the final plot, construction and hard work that made this day possible."

She continued: "Parks like this are so much more than open spaces. They make an important contribution to our health and wellbeing.
"I hope Elizabeth Park will be enjoyed by generations to come. A place where families can make memories, friends meet, children play and everyone can benefit from peace and beauty of the natural environment."

The monarch had a well-documented love of nature and passion for trees.
Known to be among her favourites were English oak, of which there is a mature tree at the Princes Drive entrance and tulip trees, which have been included in the new planting.
Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire Mr Tim Cox added: "What I really like about the park is it is community driven.
"It is connecting Warwick and Leamington which is great and it gets people out of their houses and into the community."
