Warwick Nub News will be bringing you live updates about the local elections throughout the day, live from the NAEC Stoneleigh.

Results are awaited for both Warwick Town Council and Warwick District Council.

Residents took to the polls yesterday (May 4) to vote in 27 councillors across the two councils.

Going into the elections there was no majority control at WDC. Conservatives held 16 of the 44 seats.

WDC Final Total (of 44 seats): Labour 11 / Whitnash 3 / Conservative 6 / Green 14 / Lib Dems 10

WTC Final Total (of 15 seats): Labour 11 / Conservative 1 / Green 3 / Lib Dems 0

5.25pm FINAL RESULTS

That's the last results in for WDC - Greens take Park Hill.

The district council has no majority party but the Greens are the biggest with 14. Labour took 11 and the Lib Dems 10.

But the Tories dropping down to six is perhaps the headline of the day as they lose 13 seats.

The Conservatives have taken two more seats - taking their total now up to six.

Jan Matecki and Peter Phillips are both in for Budbrooke, with the Tories holding both seats.

It's official - no party will have total control at Warwick District Council.

That's how we started the day, and what the group leaders predicted.

4.09pm Results Announced

Labour leader Mini Mangat failed to gain election to the district council as she stood in Myton & Heathcote this time around.

All three seats were taken by the Greens from the Tories with Kathleen Gorman, Dominic Harrison and Hema Yellapragada all voted onto the council.

Having earlier speculated that leader of the previous district council Andrew Day was likely to lose his seat, he has in fact held on by just five votes following a recount.

Matthew Collins took the most votes for Labour, with Mr Day receiving the second most votes.

3.48pm Results Announced

Warwick All Saints and Woodloes results are in, with Labour taking a clean sweep.

The Tories lose all three of their seats to Raj Kang, John Sullivan and Paul Wightman.

3.44pm Results Announced

Warwick Town Council is now held by the Labour group who have had three more councillors elected.

Jackie D'Arcy, Raj Kang and John Sullivan all take seats for Labour. Meanwhile Oliver Jacques holds his seat to take the first Tory seat of the day on the council.

Warwick Myton & Heathcote at the town council sees Michael Edwards gain for the Greens alongside Kathleen Gorman (Green) and Eva Harrison (Green).

Mini Kaur Mangat completes the ward for Labour.

Cubbington and Leek Wootton ballot to be counted for the THIRD time as numbers look very marginal.

Believed to be a Lib Dem seat, based on previous counts.

Nothing confirmed yet.

2.36pm Results Announced

More Labour seats at WTC announced. Simon Pargeter has gained a seat for Labour in Saltisford, while David Skinner has held his seat.

2.16pm Results Announced

More Labour seats at Warwick Town Council with Daniel Browne and Jim Sinnott taking the seats for Aylesford. Two more Tory losses.

Labour have all five town council seats so far.

Daniel Browne will be representing Warwick at town and district level now.

1.59pm Results Announced

More gains for Labour who take both Warwick Saltisford seats at WDC. Katya Dray and Jim Sinnott both elected to the district council. Seats previously had been Labour and Independent.

Conservatives take their first seat at Radford Semele.

Down the road in Stratford the Liberal Democrats have taken control with six seats still to be announced.

12.55pm Result Announced

The first Warwick WDC ward results are in. Daniel Browne and Aurel-Gabriel Rosu are both voted in for Labour - taking both Warwick Aylesford seats from the Tories.

12.15pm Result Announced

Another WTC result announced, this time for Wilmhurst where Paul Wightman is the new Labour councillor.

Another Tory loss, with Labour having claimed all three seats so far.

Labour already have more seats at Warwick Town Council (three) than they did before today (two).

11.59am Result Announced

It's another Conservative loss on WTC, with Katya Dray taking the seat for Labour.

11.48am Result Announced

And the first results of the day are in!

For Warwick Town Council Labour's Anthony Murphy has been elected for Warwick Leafield.

He took 150 votes, beating Conservative Rich Eddy (146) who loses his seat at WTC.

Still awaiting our first results at NAEC Stoneleigh. Down the road at Stratford the first results are in with the Lib Dems claiming the first seat of the day (Wellesbourne East and Rural).

Report from the Local Democracy Reporting Service earlier this week said group leaders didn't think there would be a majority party come the end of the day today.

Verification has finished for Cubbington and Leek Wootton - the count will now begin. Prospective councillors have told Nub News this ward is look "very tight".
