A collection of over 130 different varieties of Snowdrop will be on display at a historic gardens in Warwick next month.

Hill Close Gardens will open its doors to guests for the annual Snowdrop Weekend on February 3 and 4.

The Victorian gardens will be open between 11am and 4pm each day, with refreshments, bulbs and plants all on sale.

The gardens were last year listed in the Daily Telegraph's top places to see snowdrops in the UK.

The article said: "For the sheer number of varieties of snowdrop, Hill Close Gardens – a rare example of a detached Victorian leisure garden – is unbeatable: it holds more than 130 different types."

Adult tickets on the door will cost £5.

Organisers said: "Join us to celebrate our fabulous collection of snowdrops.

"Our tearoom will be open and we will be selling a number of the varieties that we have at Hill Close."

The gardens will also host a Snowdrop drawing event on the afternoon of Saturday, February 10.

"You will be working from a still life of Hill Close snowdrops brought in and set up in the comfort of an indoor studio with additional opportunities to go into the garden and photograph the flowers growing outside," organisers said.

"You will be encouraged to work in ways, and with materials that best suit you.

"All that is needed is a love of snowdrops, gardens and Art! All levels welcome."
