Plans to create a new woodland on a village farm have been given the go-ahead by district planners.

Harrison Projects Ltd had applied to turn a Barford field once used for grazing into woods, a vegetable plot and woodworking area.

And the land at Lower Watchbury Farm, which is currently not used for anything, is set to be given a new lease of life after Warwick District Council signed off on the plans.

A council report said the trees will help offset the carbon footprint of the applicant's business.

"There is an objection from the highways authority requesting information regarding the access as well as tracking details for vehicles being able to enter and exit the site," the report added.

"However no changes to the existing access are proposed.

"The works which require permission will not affect the type of or frequency of vehicles visiting this site and therefore this information is not considered relevant."

The project also received support from Barford Parish Council.

The only concerns from locals regarded the allotment in the plans, but as this will only be for private use, planning permission is not required.
