A visitor was injured today after falling while climbing Guy's Tower, located at Warwick Castle.

Emergency crews from Leamington Fire Station were called to assist ambulance personnel at the scene in Warwick.

The visitor sustained injuries to their shoulder and leg during the fall.

Due to the tower's narrow spiral staircase, standing at 29 metres high, conventional rescue methods proved unfeasible.

Instead, firefighters deployed a turntable ladder to safely bring the injured person down from the tower.

Sharing the news, Leamington Fire Station said: "We put our Turntable Ladder into action to bring them safely back down to terra firma, where they were taken to hospital for precautionary checks."
