The latest update on the £38 million A46 Stoneleigh Island works has been released by Warwickshire County Council.

Having started in December 2020, the works will continue until at least summer 2022 and will see a new roundabout, and bridge built at the site.

Through November work has started on the new Westley Bridge, the new slip roads have neared completion and work has begun on what will be the new A46 roundabout.

The new northbound on-slip opened on November 8 with the old slip road becoming a work area to construct the new bridge.

Earthworks have also progressed for the new Dalehouse Lane roundabout.

The A46 was also closed over two weekends during November so steel beams for the new bridge could be delivered. These are now being built into the bridge on site.

A new 'attenuation pond' has also been built along Stoneleigh Road. The pond will collect rainwater running off the road.

Next month there will continue to be earthworks on site across the area, but in particular for the new Dalehouse Roundabout.
