Covid-19 memorial to be unveiled in Warwick this week

A living wisteria sculpture is set to be unveiled in Warwick this week to honour and remember those who died as a result of the pandemic.

The memorial will be placed close to the Banbury Road entrance at St Nicholas Park during a short ceremony on Thursday, May 26.

The chair and vice-chairman of Warwick District Council will join the Mayor of Warwick on the day, and members of the public are invited to join in for the 3.30pm start.

The memorial if one of four to be unveiled across the district.

Kenilworth, Whitnash and Leamington Spa will also receive a statue, funded by WDC.

Latest Gov.UK data shows that 330 people have died from Covid-19 in Warwick district.

Across the UK 164,053 have died from Covid-19, up to Friday, May 6.
