Motorists are being warned to take extra care when driving along the A46 after several oil spills were reported this morning (16 September).

The spillages have made the carriageway 'extremely slippery,' posing a possible hazard to drivers.

Kenilworth and Warwick Rural Police have advised motorists travelling northbound on the A46 from Stratford, around Bishopton Island towards Warwick and Kenilworth, near Stanks Island, to take care.

Officers are currently en route, while National Highways will also be attending the scene to ensure the road is safe to drive on.

Kenilworth and Warwick Rural Police have thanked motorists for their patience and urged drivers to take extra care while the spillages are dealt with.
